Hi everyone. My name is Irfan. I was born in Pakistan and spent the early part of my life there. I am currently living in Minnesota and I simply love it out here. This is a beautiful city, with lots of lakes and many places to go and things to do. It is also a very progressive city, which might be a little hard to comprehend, due to the public image of this entire Northern Mid West area, especially after the movie "Fargo". The economy out here is booming, with lots of jobs especially in the hi-tech area. Yes, it is cold in winter and we freeze our butts off, but even in winter there are fun things to do like down hill and cross country skiing, tubing etc. Enough of my eloquent praises about Minnesota. But before you read ahead check out if you have the Minnesotan characteristics.
A little more about me. I have lived in several other US cities and have visited several other countries. I love travelling and visiting new places. In my spare time (I wish I had more of that) I jog around the lakes (it is gorgeous in summer), play tennis, soccer and volley ball and just try to have some plain, harmless fun.
I work for a big Medical device company, primarily focused in implantable devices. My responsibilities include designing and implementing the software that runs on these devices. I have worked with C, C++ and Assembly, as well as with Verilog, a Hardware Design Language. I have also spent substantial amount of time playing with HTML, Java and Visual Basic. Any other computer geeks interested in the same stuff, send me an e-mail and we could keep in touch (start our own little nerdy cliche).
